David Mann, Director of Scottish Maritime Museum, Irvine, Set to Retire

That the Parliament acknowledges the outstanding contribution of David Mann, who will retire as director of the Scottish Maritime Museum after 12 years at the helm; recognises his role in leading significant restoration projects, developing Scotland’s first modern apprenticeship in boat building and repair and improving the museum’s collection with historic vessels and maritime art; notes his wider contribution to Ayrshire tourism and industrial heritage through his involvement with Industrial Museums Scotland and the Ayrshire and Arran Destination Alliance; welcomes the appointment of Matthew Bellhouse Moran as his successor, and wishes David a long and fulfilling retirement.
