That the Parliament appreciates the efforts of Maggie’s Cancer Care supporters, a group of 20 walkers collectively raising an incredible £10,509 for Maggie’s Cancer Care Centre in Kirkcaldy; understands that the walking group participated in the 12.6 mile circular walk through the Lomond Hills for the centre’s second Four Peaks Challenge, taking on all four hills, East Lomond, West Lomond, Bishop Hill and Munduff Hill; further understands that the group was led by three qualified mountain leaders from Sport Ecosse Events and followed a mixture of tracks, both surfaced and trodden hill paths that gained a total ascent of 2,460 feet across the duration of the route; notes that the event was sponsored by long time Maggie’s supporters, Smith Anderson Group; believes that the funds will be invaluable in helping Maggie’s to continue its vital and valuable programme of support for people with cancer and their loved ones in the Fife region; expresses its gratitude, and extends its very best wishes to everyone who took part in the event.
