  • Submitted by: Alexander Stewart, Mid Scotland and Fife, Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party.
  • Date lodged: Tuesday, 03 September 2024
  • Motion reference: S6M-14272

That the Parliament welcomes the news that a selection of public houses, restaurants and entertainment venues in Alloa have been celebrated as part of a new town trail guide; understands that Alloa First has partnered up with tech company, Vicinity, to provide the guide, which gathers information on the best the town has to offer; further understands that Toast and Taste will provide visitors, in addition to local residents, with suggestions on where to find good coffee, cake, cocktails or food; believes that Toast and Taste has been made possible with help from Scotland’s Improvement Districts (SIDs) and that it has been launched as part of Scotland Loves Local Week; understands that in addition to launching the trail, Alloa First is also encouraging local businesses to sign the Scotland Loves Local pledge, which aims to ensure that people will choose local where possible for them to do so; notes that the Toast and Taste trail can be accessed by downloading the 'LoyalFree' app from the relevant app store; further notes that people can also sign the pledge by going to the dedicated Scotland Loves Local web page, and wishes everyone involved the very best wishes for the guide’s and the businesses’ collective success.
