  • Motion reference: S6M-12431

That the Parliament congratulates Erynn McGrath, of Lochgelly, on being awarded the prestigious Unsung Hero of the Year Award at the Scottish Sports Future Awards 2024, held in Glasgow on 22 February 2024; understands that the award is sponsored by sportscotland, and recognises a young person who is inclusive, has a positive attitude, a willingness to help, and continuously puts others first; notes that Erynn was awarded the title in recognition of her commitment and dedication to Fife Scottish Sports Futures (SSF) programme; understands that Erynn began her SSF journey by participating in the For the Girls programme, in partnership with the Sweaty Betty Foundation, earlier in the year, before progressing onto two further SSF programmes; believes that these programmes have helped to boost Erynn's confidence and public speaking ability, as well as her leadership skills that she has developed over the course of these programmes; understands that, in pushing herself outside of her comfort zone, she has become a role model for young people in the local community, and wishes her all the very best for the future.
