Highlighting the Needs of the Brain Tumour Community

  • Submitted by: Foysol Choudhury, Lothian, Scottish Labour.
  • Date lodged: Tuesday, 05 March 2024
  • Motion reference: S6M-12280

That the Parliament recognises what it sees as the unmet need for those affected by brain tumours within current patient pathways; understands that there are over 120 different types of brain tumour, which can be high or low grade but equally devastating; believes that diagnosis times for those referred with a potential brain tumour must be faster and that all brain tumour patients should have access to a high level of care; understands that brain tumours remain the biggest cancer killer of those under 40, and considers that four key areas, namely diagnosis, care, treatment and research, must be addressed so that outcomes for those affected by this disease can be improved.
