That the Parliament welcomes the news that an Alloa community champion has been named as a finalist at the annual Scotland Loves Local Awards; understands that Diane Brown, project manager for Alloa First, has been shortlisted in the final for the Place Leader category for her work in improving the town centre; acknowledges that, with Alloa First, Diane has overseen the improvement of the town centre, including updating Alloa’s CCTV network and ensuring that a Christmas lights switch-on event goes ahead each year; notes that she is also a trustee for Alloa Hub, is involved with Alloa in Bloom, is a member of Clackmannanshire Business Support Partnership and sits on the board of Discover Clackmannanshire; understands that these awards are organised by Scotland’s Towns Partnership (STP), with each finalist invited to a ceremony in Dundee on 28 November 2024, and wishes Diane and all of the nominees the very best of luck for the final announcements.
