Kirkcaldy Polish Club Secures Bennochy House

  • Submitted by: David Torrance, Kirkcaldy, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Thursday, 30 November 2023
  • Motion reference: S6M-11499

That the Parliament congratulates Kirkcaldy Polish Club on securing Bennochy House to ensure its future in the town; understands that the Polish Club managed to acquire this historic building from the previous owners in London due to a generous donation from the Scottish Land Fund, which supports local initiatives; believes that the purchase of Bennochy House ensures a future for this unique venue, known locally for the past 70 years as the Polish Club, and will serve as a valuable place for many local charities and community projects; understands that Bennochy House will continue to commemorate and honour Polish soldiers who trained in Fife during the Second World War and fought alongside the Allies, and who, after the war, unable to return to Poland, found their new home in Kirkcaldy, and commends the Polish club and all of its staff, volunteers, and committee and board members for all of their hard work in securing Bennochy House as its venue and keeping it as a place for all of the community to enjoy.
