  • Submitted by: Sue Webber, Lothian, Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party.
  • Date lodged: Thursday, 09 November 2023
  • Motion reference: S6M-11152

That the Parliament congratulates Whitburn Rotary Club on winning two awards at the ScotRail in the Community Awards, held in October 2023, for transforming Fauldhouse Station; recognises that these annual awards showcase the hard work and contributions that volunteers make to their communities in delivering services that, it considers, go way beyond the railway; understands that Whitburn Rotary Club was named as the category winner of the Adopter(s) of the Year, an award presented to it for all its hard work in revamping Fauldhouse station, including removing weeds and installing new planters, which provide colour all year round, and attractive changing displays; notes that the second award was in the Adopted Station of the Year category, and that Whitburn Rotary Club received the bronze award in this category for adopting Fauldhouse Station and greatly improving the station environment, and wishes members of Whitburn Rotary Club continued success with the further improvements that it understands they plan to make to planters and signage at the station.
