That the Parliament congratulates Handicabs (Lothian) (HcL), as November 2023 marks its 41st birthday; believes that HcL is one of the biggest and most well-respected community transport services in Scotland, which serves Edinburgh and the Lothians across the four local authority areas; notes that HcL provides transport for anybody who has mobility challenges, such as older people, people with disabilities, additional support issues, long- or short-term health issues that affect mobility, and those who are rurally isolated; further notes that HcL has grown over the last 40 years, and now has offices at Bilston Glen, Loanhead and Whitehill Industrial Estate, Bathgate, with 39 permanent staff and four volunteers; commends the HcL staff for operating the 32 vehicles and two dispatch centres throughout the year and continuing to thrive despite the cost of living crisis; further commends HcL staff for working tirelessly to give their passengers the best experience, and wishes HcL every success for the future.
