Dundee Culture Celebrates 10th Anniversary

  • Submitted by: Maggie Chapman, North East Scotland, Scottish Green Party.
  • Date lodged: Tuesday, 26 September 2023
  • Motion reference: S6M-10611

That the Parliament recognises what it sees as the contribution Dundee Culture has made to the city of Dundee, and wider region, as it celebrated its 10th anniversary throughout August 2023; welcomes Dundee Culture’s commitment to promoting Dundee’s cultural, hospitality, and tourism sectors; understands that Dundee Culture has promoted the city to millions of people from around the world; further understands that Dundee Culture’s Stay Safe Dundee campaign, which was launched in March 2020, helped people in Dundee and Tayside stay up to date on information surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, providing comfort, it believes, to thousands of people who were anxious during the days of lockdown; congratulates Dundee Culture for its Sunny Dundee campaign, which, it understands, sold its iconic yellow sunglasses and raised £1,700 for the Archie Foundation, a local charity, which helps children and young people in transforming their experience in hospital, and wishes Dundee Culture further success for the future.
