  • Submitted by: Stuart McMillan, Greenock and Inverclyde, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Friday, 01 September 2023
  • Motion reference: S6M-10250

That the Parliament congratulates Inverkip Community Hub on being awarded £32,000 from the Scottish Government’s Social Isolation and Loneliness Fund, which has enabled the launch of the Kip Café; understands that this new initiative aims to bring people together, create better social connections and improve health and wellbeing amongst the local community; recognises that this five-figure sum is enabling the Hub to employ staff to support the Café, which can be accessed free of charge to anyone over 16 and includes a drop-in opportunity for anyone who wants to have a coffee, access PCs and WiFi, or be signposted to a wide range of local community projects on offer; thanks the Scottish Government for investing in community projects such as the Kip Café that are working to reduce social isolation and loneliness, and wishes the project and all the staff at the Hub every success.
