Perth High School Scottish Cup Shield Victory

That the Parliament congratulates Perth High School senior football team on its victory in the final of the Scottish Senior Shield at Scotland’s national stadium, Hampden Park, on 19 May 2023; understands that the Scottish Senior Shield is considered the pinnacle of schools football; notes that the Perth High School team won the 2023 final 5-4 on penalties after a 1-1 draw against Holyrood Secondary, to secure the school’s second ever shield and first since 2001; commends coach and PE teacher, Mr Robinson, who has led the group for six years, culminating in this incredible victory; understands that hundreds of supporters cheered on the players at Hampden, and that the team was supported by school staff members, Mr Anderson, Miss Sorbie and Mrs Molley throughout the season; notes that the senior football team paraded the Scottish Senior Shield at McDiarmid Park during the final St Johnstone match of the season on 28 May 2023; celebrates the success of the exceptional team and staff with this victory, which is being heralded throughout the Fair City, and wishes everyone involved all the best for the future.
