  • Date lodged: Thursday, 01 June 2023
  • Motion reference: S6M-09215

That the Parliament congratulates Alex McAnespie and Donna Armstrong, founders of the Homeless Veterans Project, on being announced as the 2047th and 2048th recipients of the Points of Light Award; notes that the Points of Light award recognises volunteers who have made significant contributions to their communities, with the Prime Minister recognising one Point of Light each day; acknowledges that Donna and Alex began the Homeless Veterans Project in 2019, and that, since then, they have supported many veterans with issues they have faced when reintegrating into civilian life, including some veterans at risk of homelessness, and wishes Alex, Donna, and the whole team of volunteers who run the Homeless Veterans Project all the best for the future as they continue what it sees as their important work in supporting veterans as valued members of the wider community.
