That the Parliament congratulates Annan Harbour Action Group (AHAG) on holding its first farmers' and producers' market at the harbour quayside on 20 May 2023; notes that AHAG began as a community-led initiative and is now a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO); welcomes that traders and craft makers brought the best of local food, drink and creative products to the market, which will take place on every third Saturday of the month; believes that producers markets, such as the one in Annan, give customers confidence in quality and provenance, while reducing food miles and supporting local business and economies; recognises Annan’s place in Scotland’s history in trade and shipbuilding, interwoven, it understands, with Robert the Bruce, Edward Balliol and Robert Burns; congratulates AHAG on its ambitious efforts to renew and renovate the quayside, slipway and warehouse buildings, on providing community boat building activities, work experience for school leavers and construction projects, as well as hosting the Annan Men’s Shed, organising the annual Harbour Festival, Solstice Walk, litter picks and heritage promotion; wishes everyone in AHAG all the best for the future, and encourages visitors and residents to visit the quayside farmers' market on the third Saturday of each month.
