Jonathan Cameron Wins Gold at Scottish Heptathlon Championships

That the Parliament congratulates Jonathan Cameron, from Greenock, on winning gold in the Heptathlon U20 at the scottishathletics National Indoor Combined Events Championships, at the Glasgow Emirates Arena; understands that the Clydeview Academy pupil was hoping to win bronze, and ended up recording his best performance to finish top, competing in seven events over two days; recognises that Jonathan followed up this success with a second place finish in the under-20s long jump in the Scottish Schools Athletics Association Indoor Championships; believes that Jonathan trains five days a week and goes for a run on one of his rest days, which is on top of his studies as he prepares to apply to the University of Stirling’s scholarship programme to study physical education; understands that Jonathan has his sights set on becoming a professional athlete and competing in the Commonwealth Games and Olympics, and wishes him all the best as he continues on this career path.
