  • Date lodged: Friday, 10 February 2023
  • Motion reference: S6M-07855

That the Parliament congratulates Holyrood magazine on the recent publication of its 500th issue; notes that the first issue of Holyrood was published on 3 May 1999, just three days before the polls opened for the first election to the Scottish Parliament; acknowledges the focus on Scottish politics and wider national issues that the magazine has provided throughout this time; welcomes that the 500th issue includes a special "Caledonia Companion", featuring essays from Scots across the arts, industry, law and politics; commends the magazine's editor, Mandy Rhodes, for recently winning both the Columnist of the Year and Writer of the Year awards at the PPA Scotland Awards 2022; recognises what it sees as the valuable role that Holyrood plays at the centre of Scottish politics, and commends everyone connected with Holyrood, past and present, for their work over the last two and a half decades.
