That the Parliament commends the partnership between UHI Perth and the Scottish Music Industry Association (SMIA) towards making music business students industry-ready upon graduation; understands that the agreement involves a collaboration agreement that will see SMIA provide accreditation and endorsement of BA Hons Music and BA Hons Music Business programmes, and offer students opportunities for work experience, training and mentoring to equip them with skills that meet the music industry’s needs; notes that previous students have benefited from work experience at the Scottish Album of the Year Awards, recognising SMIA as a membership organisation, which aims to grow, strengthen, empower and unite Scotland’s music industry in the UK and internationally; congratulates both UHI Perth and SMIA for this endeavour, and wishes the co-operation continued success in the future.
