Congratulating West Highland Free Press on Winning Highlands and Islands Media Newspaper of Year Award

That the Parliament extends its congratulations to the West Highland Free Press for being named Newspaper of the Year at the Highlands and Islands Media Awards; recognises what it sees as the newspaper's long-standing tradition of delivering accurate and reliable news to its readers; notes the newspaper's commitment to promoting and preserving the rich cultural heritage of the Highlands and Islands, and commends what it sees as the paper's unwavering dedication to journalistic excellence; highlights what it considers to be the continued importance of local media to the community, in ensuring that local interests are represented and protected, serving as a platform for a range of voices and perspectives, and promoting transparency at a community level, ensuring officials are held accountable, and wishes the West Highland Free Press and all other press, media and broadcast publications across the Highlands and Islands continued growth and success.
