Congratulating Care Manager Heather Bethune of Kirkcaldy Abbeyfield House Residential Care Home on Receiving Abbeyfield Royal Patron Award

That the Parliament congratulates Heather Bethune, Care Manager at Abbeyfield House Residential Care Home in Kirkcaldy on receiving an Abbeyfield Royal Patron’s Award; understands that the annual award recognises that Heather’s hard work has made an outstanding contribution to the lives of residents and staff in the care home, helping to ensure the wellbeing of its residents; believes that Heather was chosen from hundreds of staff worldwide to receive what it considers the prestigious accolade, which is signed by Abbeyfield’s former Royal Patron, His Majesty King Charles III; further believes that Heather has 20 years’ experience as care manager at Abbeyfield in Kirkcaldy, and acknowledges that she has been instrumental in resident care and staff development, including, it understands, the instigation of a thorough training programme ensuring delivery of a high standard of care and support for the home’s residents; considers that her electronic systems for recording staff and residents’ details and dispensing medicine, and highly effective procedures put in place to protect residents from the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and keep families informed, have been sought after and adopted in other care homes, and extends its very best wishes to Heather, staff and residents at Abbeyfield House for continued success into the future.
