Commending the Work of Pregnant then Screwed

  • Submitted by: Alex Cole-Hamilton, Edinburgh Western, Scottish Liberal Democrats.
  • Date lodged: Tuesday, 08 November 2022
  • Motion reference: S6M-06609

That the Parliament commends the work being done by the organisation Pregnant then Screwed; believes that there are still significant barriers to raising children while having a career and that such barriers disproportionately affect women and mothers; understands that across the UK 54,000 women lose their jobs due to their pregnancy; calls for the implementation of what it sees as better practice across sectors, and urges anyone who thinks they may have been affected by discrimination to seek legal or representative advice.
