Dysart Sailing Club Celebrates 55th Anniversary

  • Submitted by: David Torrance, Kirkcaldy, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Thursday, 28 July 2022
  • Motion reference: S6M-05542

That the Parliament celebrates the 55th anniversary of the founding of Dysart sailing club; notes that the sailing club recently held a local fun day in celebration of this anniversary; further notes that the sailing club’s fun day included music from Dysart Silver Band, the Ukulele Band, a bouncy castle, historical boats display, highland dancers, tombola and a visit from the Kirkcaldy Model Boat Club; understands that the club secured a long-term lease for Dysart harbour from the local authority in 1967, persuading it to make improvements and saving the harbour from disrepair; acknowledges that, since then, Historic Environment Scotland has maintained an involvement in the harbour to ensure its historical interests are preserved; thanks the sailing club for being an instrumental part of preserving Dysart harbour, and wishes it all the best for the future.
