That the Parliament congratulates Deerness Distillery in Orkney on being awarded Gold for their Sea Glass Gin in the Ultra Premium category at the Global Spirits Masters Awards 2022; notes that Deerness Distillery's signature spirit Sea Glass was first released in 2017 and was the overall winner in the Classic Gin Category at the Great British Food Awards in 2019; further notes that Deerness Distillery was the first distillery in Orkney in over 132 years when it was established in 2016 by Stuart and Adelle Brown in a purpose-built distillery at the side of their home; understands that Stuart and Adelle have since gone on to produce a number of award-winning spirits including, Scuttled Gin, Vara Gin, Orkney Moon coffee liqueur and the UK's most Northerly distilled vodka, Into The Wild; further understands that Deerness Distillery has ambitious expansion plans into whisky production and has received planning permission for an enlarged distillery with the cafe and shop supplemented by new visitor viewing areas; believes that Deerness Distillery is a shining example of the excellence and quality renowned in Orkney’s food and drink, and wishes Stuart and Adelle all the very best for further success in the future.
