That the Parliament celebrates Grangemouth Children's Day 2019, which took place in the town on 22 June; understands that the annual event has been running for over a hundred years and is held in Zetland Park in Grangemouth, where thousands of people turn out to join the parade and watch as the next Children's Day Queen is crowned beside her entourage from a chosen local school; commends the hard work and dedication of the Children's Day committee, without whom the event could never go ahead; thanks the many local businesses for their significant contribution to the event, along with teachers, pupils and parents from Grangemouth primary schools and nurseries, Falkirk Council and Falkirk Community Trust for their support; acknowledges that 2019 is the last Children's Day for Violet Cook as secretary of the committee; notes that Violet has been involved in the event for over 50 years but became involved as secretary in 1989 when her husband, Lex, recruited her to the committee; commends Violet for her tireless dedication to the children of Grangemouth and her significant work for Children's Day over the years; congratulates everyone involved in this fantastic community event, and looks forward to it being held for many years to come.
