Glasgow Airport's Busiest Summer on Record - Amendment 1

  • Submitted by: Patrick Harvie, Glasgow, Scottish Green Party.
  • Date lodged: Monday, 11 September 2017
  • Motion reference: S5M-07617.1

As an amendment to motion S5M-07617 in the name of George Adam (Glasgow Airport's Busiest Summer on Record), leave out from "and applauds" to end and insert "; believes therefore that there is no basis for the Scottish Government’s claim that Air Passenger Duty is an unacceptable burden on this highly profitable industry; recognises what it sees as the need for the aviation sector to play its part in reducing greenhouse gas emissions and considers that relentless growth in flight numbers is therefore unsustainable, and, to protect public revenues and place a clear financial incentive on the industry to achieve a reduction in emissions, urges ministers to revise their policy for the Air Departure Tax."
