KPMG Illicit Tobacco in Australia Report - Amendment
- Submitted by: Neil Findlay, Lothian, Scottish Labour.
- Date lodged: Thursday, 14 November 2013
- Motion reference: S4M-08283.2
As an amendment to motion S4M-08283 in the name of Jackson Carlaw (KPMG Illicit Tobacco in Australia Report), leave out from "which finds" to end and insert “; notes that this report was paid for by several tobacco companies and produced at their behest, that KPMG published a detailed disclaimer at the beginning of the report noting that the work 'was performed to meet specific terms of reference' and that 'The report should not therefore be regarded as suitable to be used or relied on by any other person or for any other purpose', and understands that previous moves to regulate tobacco sales have been met by tobacco industry-funded reports predicting dire consequences that did not, in the end, come to pass.”
