To ask the Scottish Government whether the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service has indicated when any investigations into the Park Inn tragedy of 26 June 2020, in Glasgow, will conclude.
Answer
The investigation by the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service (COPFS) into the circumstances surrounding this tragic incident is ongoing and no final decisions have been taken regarding any court proceedings. There are a number of complex issues raised by those circumstances which require to be carefully considered and it is not possible to provide a definite timescale for those enquiries being concluded.

To ask the Scottish Government for what reason it considers just over a third of health and social care staff have taken up their COVID-19 winter booster and flu vaccinations to date, and what its position is on whether uptake should be higher.
Answer
Our aspiration is for uptake to be as high as possible across all groups, this includes health and social care workers.
Vaccination uptake for Frontline Health & Social Care workers is currently at 40% for Covid-19 vaccines. The uptake for Flu vaccines for all healthcare workers is currently at 49%.
We have been working closely with Health Boards to increase uptake in this group. Specific interventions include drop in clinics for workers, outreach vaccination teams visiting workplaces, tailored local and national communications to encourage uptake. We are also conducting surveys to gather insight on why some people are choosing not to get vaccinated this winter.

To ask the Scottish Government whether Caledonian Maritime Assets Limited and other relevant non-departmental public bodies design the specification of their shipbuilding contracts with the goal of sustaining and developing the shipbuilding and wider maritime industry supply chain in Scotland.
Answer
CMAL is fully supportive of Scottish Shipbuilding industry and supply chain, both through support to delivery of the vessels at Fergusons and its role in the Scottish Maritime Cluster. Procurements for vessels include consideration of local content but are open to tender on a wider basis than Scottish suppliers.

To ask the Scottish Government how much it has spent on promotion of the Young Persons’ (Under 22s) Free Bus Travel scheme to date, broken down by spend on the national marketing campaign and spend on other costs.
Answer
A national marketing campaign for the Young Persons’ Free Bus Travel Scheme was launched in autumn 2022. This has helped to increase awareness and understanding of the scheme and encouraged more young people to apply. PR and marketing activity was also undertaken during COP26 between October and December 2021 to promote the scheme ahead of its launch.
The following table provides the spend as at 15 November 2022 (inclusive of VAT where applicable) for the two campaigns.
In addition, stakeholder communications to over 300 public, transport, private and third sector organisations has been undertaken throughout 2022 at no additional cost.
| Spend (as at 15 Nov 2022) |
National Marketing Campaign Autumn 2022 | £932,475 |
COP26 PR and Marketing Autumn 2021 | £204,656 |
Total | £1,137,131 |

To ask the Scottish Government what part infusions and injections will have in future plans to treat chronic pain.
Answer
I understand how important infusions and injections are for those patients receiving them, and that work is needed to improve care for people with chronic pain and the sustainability of our pain management services.
It is our intention that people can access safe, effective, evidence-based care and support. Therefore, as set out in the Framework for Pain Management Service Delivery – Implementation Plan which we published in July, we are taking action to develop a more consistent, nationally agreed approach to the provision of specialist medical interventions, such as infusions and injections.
This will take into account existing clinical evidence, the variation in approach between Health Boards and seek to reflect the views and needs of both the patient and clinical community.

To ask the Scottish Government when the Novavax COVID-19 vaccine will be available for patients
with an identified clinical need in Dumfries and Galloway.
Answer
Novavax Nuvaxovid is currently available in all Health Boards as an alternative to the Pfizer and Moderna mRNA vaccines and is only to be used in exceptional circumstances. This means that when mRNA vaccines are not considered clinically suitable, the Novavax vaccine may be used for booster vaccination of adults over 18 years. Not clinically suitable means that you can only have Novavax if you have a specific history of allergies to the mRNA vaccines or its ingredients, or your condition makes it unsuitable.
