Question

To ask the Scottish Government what action it is taking to improve the quality of rivers.

Answer

Scotland’s River Basin Management Plans, published in December 2015, set out objectives for improvement of Scotland's water environment. At present 63% of water bodies in Scotland are at ‘good’ or better status and the Plans set out particular actions to support further improvements.
