Dentists Act 1984 (Amendment) Order 2005 (draft)
We come to item 5. At its meeting on 21 June—in two weeks' time—the committee requires to consider by affirmative instrument an order to amend the Dentists Act 1984. Members might recall that the committee took evidence on the proposed order last autumn, so we are well ahead. A paper has been circulated proposing that the committee review the consultation responses submitted by a range of organisations whose members will be affected directly by the changes. It is suggested that the Scottish Consumer Council be invited to comment on the proposed changes. As no members wish to comment, do we agree to proceed on the basis of the proposals in the paper?
Members indicated agreement.
That ends our public business. I ask that the sound system be switched off and that all members of the public leave the room.
Meeting continued in private until 15:01.
