We either commit fully to developing a renewable energy industry in Scotland, with all the widespread economic and environmental benefits that it will bring, or we allow ever-increasing pressure from the nuclear lobby to push the Executive into developing new nuclear power stations that are expensive to run and operate, and leave a fearsome legacy for generations to come.The development of the wind farm on Lewis must be whole-heartedly welcomed, but the Executive must try harder and offer greater incentives or the Scottish industry will miss the boat or—worse still—end up being wholly foreign owned, like many of our salmon farms...
