I am asking for best practice, convener; I am not asking that it be built in as a standing order of the committee. I am urging you to follow best practice and I cannot really see your argument against that.
Given the nature of the responses that the committee has received, it would be premature to make changes in the system for verifying that building standards have been followed. We should therefore close consideration of the petition.
