Sickness absence continues to trend higher than the same period last year, 3.3% this year compared to 1.9% in 2020. Looking at the reasons for absence, there has been a 50% increase in the number of hours absent due to minor illnesses compared to quarter 2.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, 2020 and 2021 were exceptional years for waste management. Comparing these two years is therefore less revealing than looking at the long-term trend.

What justification is there for making de facto public bodies such as Zero Waste Scotland, which are funded by the Government and were set up to carry out Government policy, exempt from FOI?
