In the area of wildlife crime, is the Lord Advocate content that the sentences that are handed down after guilty verdicts are high enough, especially given the number of cases in which, as the newspapers report, disturbingly low fines are levied for very serious offences? The penalty that is imposed for any crime is a matter for the courts.
