The way for us to deal with the petition might be to draw those concerns to the Executive's attention and to urge it to raise them at the highest level, so that what is ultimately put in place might be seen to protect those vulnerable sectors of Scottish agriculture that the levy could damage. It might be difficult to draw a border between where the climate change levy does and does not apply.

To ask the Scottish Executive whether any proportion of the revenue from the Aggregates Tax Sustainability Fund will be allocated to it in the current financial year. No. The Aggregates Levy comes into force in April 2002 and so the revenue from the Aggregates Levy will be allocated from 2002-03.
