Pupils who receive free school meals form just under half of all exclusions, and 48.6 per cent of Scottish applicants who are accepted at UK higher education institutions are from social classes I and II, but only 9 per cent are from classes IV and V. At present, we are offering advice to organisations on a number of key areas of legislation, including the Human Rights Act 2000 provisions covering the rehabilitation of offenders and data protection, and part V of the Police Act 1997. Those four areas of legislation are critical to the process in which we are engaged.

She took us through the sections of the bill that would relate to Disclosure Scotland. The bill will amend part V of the Police Act 1997, which will allow Disclosure Scotland to have access to the lists that I mentioned and to disclose the fact that someone is on those lists.
