My answer to question S3W-36450 referred specifically to the new UK Government''s commitment, published in May this year, to review the control and use of accumulated and future revenues from the Fossil Fuel Levy (FFL) in Scotland (currently standing at £191 million).

We have a letter from Levy & McRae, which acts on behalf of the former First Minister, and it says quite clearly that the Scottish Government’s position, which is that whether the committee obtains documents is a matter for the courts, is in some way incorrect.

The local authority debt advice presence is not as great in England and Wales, where much of the debt advice is funded directly by the Money and Pensions Service—previously the Money Advice Service. We have £4 million of levy funding coming to Scotland, but that is only part of the picture.
