Topics for future meetings • ML noted that in the last session, the CPG covered the following topics: o My Body Back project (cervical screening, contraceptive care, STI testing and maternity care for people who’ve experienced sexual violence. o Menopause and the workplace o Endometriosis o Lipoedema o Heart health o Pause programme and conditional healthcare o The impact of the pandemic on women’s health o Miscarriage care o The healthcare experience of Black and Minority Ethnic women o Heart Health (joint meeting with CPG on Heart & Stroke) o Mental health • There were a number of suggestions from the group about future topics, including: o Scrutiny of the SG Women’s Health Plan, including the exploration of the need for legislative underpinning o Menopause in the workplace (It was noted that Collette Stevenson MSP is currently seeking a member’s debate on this topic) o Peri-menopause o Mental health link with menstrual health o Lack of funding for research into women’s health o Women’s health links with un/employment o Women’s health for women in rural and remote areas 2 • Actions arising: o Convener to invite Minister to next meeting o Convener to initiate inquiry for piece of in-depth work o Convener/Secretariat to work closely with APPG on Women’s Health via the secretariat, FSRH o Convener/Secretariat to consider Survey Monkey to agree focus of the group’s future meetings o Convener/Secretariat to ensure that future meetings track progress of the Women’s Health Plan at future meetings Item 4.

Young people could then approach the teacher they feel most comfortable with. o Signposting for support for young people should be improved. o More needs to be done to educate all young people on GBV. o More focus should be on educating the perpetrators rather than focusing solely on how young girls can protect themselves. o It is important to be able to approach teachers and staff for a chat, not necessarily needing to make an appointment for a more formal discussion. o GBV issues should be talked about across the curriculum not just in PSE. o Older young people could provide an alternative person for younger young people to talk to. 2 o More realistic scenarios are needed when discussing these issues and it should be more open and framed en about person-on-person discussions rather than m s perpetrating against women and girls. and boy o Healthy conversations need to be encouraged.
