I am sure that the Executive will take that into account.I want to see homeless people getting out of temporary accommodation, more people getting off waiting lists and into secure housing, and more first-time buyers and essential workers being given a leg-up on to the first rung of the property ladder.

Perhaps I have a slightly jaundiced view of these matters, but from my time as Minister for Local Government and Finance, I recall that we were supposed to be introducing a temporary relief scheme. The issue has grown arms and legs. If SCVO had not made it do so, it would not have been doing its job and I congratulate the council on pushing things forward.

The young marine energy sector could be killed off by ill-thought-out Government fiscal policies before it gets a chance to breathe.The Executive can beaver away and be as effective as it likes in the renewables sector, only for the UK Government to kick the legs from under it.
