Supported by: Paul Sweeney*, Liam Kerr* *S6M-03947 Alexander Stewart: Tour de Clacks by The Rotary Club of Alloa, Fundraising for Ukraine—That the Parliament welcomes the news that the Rotary Club of Alloa is to continue its mission of providing Humanitarian Aid to the People of Ukraine with a Sponsored Cycle Ride in Clackmannanshire, whilst people can raise money for their own local cause; understands that the Tour de Clacks is a name of affection chosen for the cycle and walking paths that can be found around the Wee County; further understands that for this event, Alloa Rotary has selected a 22km, or 13 mile circular route starting and ending at the pedestrian bridge to the West of Alloa Railway Station and alternatively from Tillicoultry Public Park, near the zebra crossing on the A91, which follows designated paths of the National Cycle Network of signed paths and routes for walking, cycling, wheeling and exploring outdoors; understands that with ample free parking near the starting points, the event is designed to be easily accessible by all; further understands that the event, which commences at 10am on 1 May 2022 is designed to be very safe and mostly off-road with only a couple of road crossings and will be manned by marshals who will also be visibly present at the start and at other strategic points along the route; understands that the intention is for most riders to complete the route in under two hours with an event scheduled finishing time of 1pm; further understands that the Tour de Clacks fundraising is to continue on Alloa Rotary’s ongoing mission to provide direct aid to the people of Ukraine through its partnership with the Rotary Club Warszawa City in neighbouring Poland, who are already providing shelter, power Monday 11 April 2022 16 Today's Business Future Business Motions & Questions Legislation Other Gnothaichean an-diugh Gnothaichean ri teachd Gluasadan agus Ceistean Reachdas Eile Motions | Gluasadan generators, medicines, food and essential children's items to Ukrainian Refugees; understands that Rotary Members give their time for free and every penny raised will go directly to help the refugees and people in desperate need without any administration costs being incurred; notes that registration is possible via the Tour de Clacks website; commends the Rotary Club of Alloa and all its members, volunteers and fundraisers for what it sees as their phenomenal and tireless work for the Ukrainian people, and wishes everyone involved in the Tour de Clacks, both volunteers and participants, all the very best with this truly excellent initiative.
