I am sure that the Minister for Local Government and Planning will be aware of that report and will acknowledge that the figure represents almost 5,800 individual stores, and probably more than 100,000 workers who will be made redundant if no effective intervention is put in place to speed up the recovery of our town centres.It is because of those facts that l urge the Scottish Government to ensure that it does not take a short-term view of the planning system, because that could have long-term consequences.
