To ask the Scottish Executive what the annual budget is for research into renewable energy and what these funds are spent on. Research into renewable energy in the UK is a reserved matter, and is funded by the Department of Trade and Industry.
We believe that education should be removed from local authority control and that funding should flow directly to local communities and groups of schools in local authority areas.
Rail transport can be a driver of economic growth in Scotland; it can move people and freight across the country safely, efficiently and affordably.I have outlined the Government's current committed major transport infrastructure programme up to 2012. The programme can be funded from within our overall budget.
