I take the point about appointments, but appointments are made on the basis of merit, not of residence.In the next few weeks, I will endeavour to meet as many of those organisations as possible to hear their views and ideas about what has been done and what has to be done, in relation to shinty as well as to swimming.

I am not sure whether the Scotch whisky industry imports barley to make its product, but I am sure that there is sufficient malted barley within Scotland to meet the demand.Scotch whisky, wine and beer are in direct competition with one another, but the UK Government taxes whisky at a rate that is one and a half times higher than that for wine and beer.
