The patient care that is provided by the Scottish Ambulance Service in the area continues to improve. The service in Lothian is set to meet its milestone of responding to 65 per cent of life-threatening calls within eight minutes by 31 March 2004, and it is on course to deliver the target of responding to 75 per cent of such calls by 2008.
