Another criticism that I want to address is that it would take society's attention away from celebrating life to concentrating on death.In almost every discussion and meeting I have with people in the medical professions—doctors, nurses and consultants—I ask the same sensitive questions: does assisted suicide happen today, and in what numbers?

A recent report to Dundee City Council noted that a positive effort had been made on the promotion of the RRS Discovery and Verdant Works and that that had resulted in an 8.5 per cent increase in total visitor numbers over the past year to nearly 92,000. Last night, I was in Oatridge College in West Lothian, where I attended the Prince's Scottish Youth Business Trust business awards for West Lothian.
