These are minor technical amendments to the way in which incapacity is referred to in the bill. They remove out-of-date terminology in the bill, which now refers simply to "adults"—meaning "adults with incapacity"—rather than to "incapable adults".
Under standing orders, the instrument has been laid after being made and is in force unless, within 40 days after the date on which it was laid, Parliament passes a resolution that nothing further be done.
Members might share my concern about the modest—I use that word with great care—rate of progress. The letter, which is dated 21 May, also states:"No final decision has been taken."
