Question ref. S6W-08596
Asked by: Alexander Stewart, Mid Scotland and Fife, Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party
Date lodged: 24 May 2022

Question

To ask the Scottish Government what information it holds on the reasons why there are restrictions on when a Veterans Railcard can be used for travel on off-peak journeys prior to 10.00 am on weekdays in Scotland, while these restrictions are not associated with other railcards.

Current status: Answered by Jenny Gilruth on 10 June 2022

Answer

The terms and conditions of all GB - Railcards are set out by “National Rail” (part of the Rail Delivery Group). Neither Transport Scotland nor ScotRail regulate the rules for the use of national railcards.

I would encourage the member to contact The Rail Delivery Group to raise this matter.
