Question
To ask the Scottish Government what information it holds on the reasons why there are restrictions on when a Veterans Railcard can be used for travel on off-peak journeys prior to 10.00 am on weekdays in Scotland, while these restrictions are not associated with other railcards.
Answer
The terms and conditions of all GB - Railcards are set out by “National Rail” (part of the Rail Delivery Group). Neither Transport Scotland nor ScotRail regulate the rules for the use of national railcards.
I would encourage the member to contact The Rail Delivery Group to raise this matter.
