National Lottery Recognition of South of Scotland Golden Eagle Project

  • Submitted by: Christine Grahame, Midlothian South, Tweeddale and Lauderdale, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Thursday, 28 November 2024
  • Motion reference: S6M-15663
  • Current status: Fallen

That the Parliament congratulates South of Scotland Golden Eagle Project (SSGEP) on being chosen as one of 30 good causes highlighted as part of the National Lottery's 30th birthday celebrations; notes that SSGEP was the only project recognised in southern Scotland and also the only environmental or conservation project highlighted; considers that this reflects the excellent and important work undertaken by the SSGEP, which has seen it restore a previously low population of golden eagles to record numbers, and commends all involved for their ongoing efforts.
