Public Bodies Urged to Boycott Israeli Government

  • Submitted by: James Dornan, Glasgow Cathcart, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Friday, 11 October 2024
  • Motion reference: S6M-14882
  • Current status: Fallen

That the Parliament recognises the rights of Israel and every other country to defend its citizens, but abhors what it believes is the recent behaviour by the Israeli government in its ongoing behaviour in Gaza, which it considers as genocidal, with reports of record numbers of media representatives having been killed and hospitals, schools and places of worship being bombed and shelled with countless women and children being indiscriminately murdered, its illegal campaign of forced removal of residents from the West Bank and its latest attacks on the innocent people of Lebanon, including, amazingly, UN peacekeepers, and urges all public bodies, including governments, to boycott any dealings with the Israeli Government until such times as it agrees to stop what it sees as the indiscriminate killings and begin an immediate ceasefire to allow talks to start around a two-state solution, which fully recognises the rights of the people of Palestine.
