Cambuslang Teacher Raises Money for Heart Research UK

  • Submitted by: Clare Haughey, Rutherglen, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Monday, 23 September 2024
  • Motion reference: S6M-14598

That the Parliament commends Rob Stewart, a drama teacher at Cathkin High School, Cambuslang, for fulfilling his promise to his student, Zara Tait, and raising money for Heart Research UK; understands that Rob had joked with the aspiring hairdresser for several years that he would bleach his hair blonde if she did well in her exam, and following Zara achieving an A grade in National 5 Drama, he agreed to take the plunge in front of staff and pupils from the school; further understands that they have raised over £1,600 in memory of Zara’s late grandfather; congratulates them on their fundraising efforts, good humour and Zara’s academic achievement, and wishes them both all the best for the future.
