Scottish Trades Union Congress St Andrew's Day Rally Against Racism and Fascism

  • Submitted by: Marie McNair, Clydebank and Milngavie, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Friday, 20 October 2023
  • Motion reference: S6M-10907

That the Parliament recognises the Scottish Trades Union Congress St Andrew’s Day Rally Against Racism and Fascism is due to take place in Glasgow on 25 November 2023, with the march leaving at 11.00 am from Glasgow Green; understands that the theme this year is "From Erskine to Elgin, The Far Right is Not Welcome"; celebrates Scotland’s strong tradition of trade unions and opposes what it sees as repeatedly regressive and abhorrent legislation from the UK Government on refugees, asylum seekers and BAME communities; stands in solidarity with those fighting against hatred, and celebrates the bravery and long standing dedication of those on the march who it believes fight oppression every day.
