Sporting Success for Bo’ness Academy with Gold School Sport Award

That the Parliament congratulates Bo’ness Academy on being awarded a Gold School Sport Award from sportscotland; understands that the Gold School Sport Award is the highest award for extra-curricular sporting activities in schools and local communities; recognises that sportscotland’s national initiative aims to encourage young people to get involved in afterschool sports by putting them at the heart of decision making processes, while also ensuring that they can partake in any planning and implementation; commends Bo’ness Academy on its cooperation with the Active Schools network, which provided critical support; understands that Bo’ness Academy was required to meet criteria for this Gold School Sport Award, including in relation to physical education provision, extra-curricular clubs, competing in events, leadership opportunities and developing pupils, coaches and staff; notes that a celebration was held at Bo’ness Academy before the October holidays to unveil the gold award flags, and wishes all staff and pupils the best in the future.
